Deborra
Garrett works in employment law and personal injury/civil
litigation. Deborra works closely with the Human Resources
staff of many local and regional companies, public agencies
and nonprofit organizations to help them keep the human
side of their operations in compliance with state and
federal employment laws. A talented litigator, Deborra
represents employers and individuals in trials and other
court proceedings and has won several significant cases
in the local, appellate and federal court systems. Deborra
also enjoys teaching the law to others, and conducts local
seminars on employment related issues at least once a
year. She is a frequent speaker at continuing education
seminars for attorneys and a frequent lecturer in Western
Washington University's business and labor law courses.
Deborra graduated from Pennsylvania State University (1972)
and the George Washington University National Law Center
(1976). She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association,
the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Washington
State Trial Lawyers Association, and Washington Women
Lawyers.
